When I recall the beginnings of CatholicTeenBooks, one concept is at its origin – a search for value-based books.
This search is how many of our authors' writing careers began. It is how Catholic Teen Books was created. And it probably is the reason you discovered Catholic Teen Books.
Not long ago, the majority of our authors felt alone in their uphill struggle to reach families with their faith-filled books. But slowly these authors from all around the country found each other on the Facebook group Books for Catholic Teens. It was a blessing to discover a group of kindred spirits who shared the same goals and values.
Through this group, two of our authors connected and had the opportunity to present a book talk together for a homeschool group in Kansas. After they shared some wonderful Catholic Young Adult books with the families, a mother in attendance stated that it would be great to have one place where all these books could be found.
After the event, this brilliant idea was shared with a few other authors, and within days, the idea of a joint website was born. Since then, we have added more authors, more genres, and many more books. We continue to grow and explore new, exciting ideas to reach even more people.
The authors of Catholic Teen Books all have unique backgrounds and personal stories, but we are all united in a common goal – the desire to bring faith-filled novels to teens.
There are some exciting things happening in the world of Catholic books - new online bookstores, Catholic-based book fairs for schools, and websites to help families find value-based media options. We are so excited to be part of this growing movement to surround our teens with edifying books that can help counter the anti-Christian culture we live in.
