Author's Christmas Fun Fact

One of my favorite Christmas memories from childhood was going to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve with my dad, mom, and two older brothers. When I was in seventh- and eighth-grade, I sang in the choir for that sacred Mass. About a dozen boys and girls were positioned in the choir loft, grouped around the organ that our music teacher, Sr. Jolene, played. I can distinctly remember the song, "Do you hear what I hear?" The music emanating from the organ was so powerful, I could feel the notes resonating in my chest. To this day, it's one of my favorite Christmas hymns. This memory was incorporated into my book, ANYTHING BUT GROOVY, in the chapter where Morgan was living her mom's seventh-grade life in 1974 and got to experience Christmas through her eyes.
